Ingredients

  • 2 cups Lion Maize
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional: Milk, sugar, or sour milk (amasi) for serving

Instructions

  • Bring water and salt to a boil in a pot.
  • Slowly add Lion Maize, stirring vigorously with a fork or whisk to create a crumbly texture. Do not stir too much, allow lumps to form.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally with a fork to maintain the crumbly consistency.
  • Serve hot, optionally with milk, sugar, or amasi.
